Promotion of
diversity and
fight against

Promoting diversity and fighting discrimination in Québec requires the participation of all Quebecers, from all backgrounds.

Every day, everywhere in Québec, many economic, social and community players work together to ensure a prosperous economy as well as a better integration of Quebecers of diverse origins in workplaces and throughout society.

The minister of Immigration, Diversity and Inclusiveness, David Heurtel, announced on October 18, 2017, that a forum on the promotion of diversity and the fight against discrimination would be held. In the presence of Premier Philippe Couillard, this forum brought together over 200 people from various horizons on December 5, 2017, in Québec City.

The forum was based on:

  • briefs and questionnaires submitted by Quebecers on this web platform.
  • a listening tour on the promotion of diversity, the fight against discrimination and labour needs conducted in a dozen regions across Québec by Minister Heurtel and the minister of Employment and Social Solidarity, François Blais.

In conjunction, non-profit organizations were mandated by the Ministère de l’Immigration de la Diversité et de l’Inclusion to lead projects to find concrete solutions to fight discrimination.
